Would you like to help make a movie?Imagine acting in the next horror, comedy or drama. Maybe you’d rather be behind the camera as a cameraman. Maybe you’re a fashion designer or make-up artist. Imagine being responsible for writing the next smash-hit television show script! Imagine being in control of what you watch. You just might have your chance at being a creator instead of just a consumer. The best part is you don’t need a college degree or thousands of dollars! What is MoltenAngel Productions? With such an unusual name, there has to be an equally unusual explanation behind it, right? Moltenangel Productions is a Film Production Company based on an “Independent Film Group”, or IFC. The idea behind an IFC is similar to that behind “open source”, only directed toward film instead of source code. Who’s Behind Moltenangel Productions? The founder is Matthew Greene and the co-founder is Adam Van Treuren. Matthew asked Adam “VT” to join in his dream to be a film production owner back in 2001. Since 2001, they have been discovering what it takes to get this thing started. They joined the U.S. Army in 2004, which landed them the opportunity of working at an overseas TV and radio broadcasting company during 2005 and 2006. From the Ground Up: Just imagine the cost of creating a production company from the ground up. It would take a lot of hard work and labor along with a very steep price to create such a business venture. I don’t know too many people with a budget to start something like that, but I do know a lot of people who would love to work for or with something of this nature. As an entrepreneur and future business owner, I see the potential of creating a production company using a social network of the various individuals I know and those individuals they know. Filmmaking requires so many different skill sets. It takes writers, actors, set designers, makeup artists, lighting specialists, and a whole lot more to create a film. A network is vital to finding and employing that many skill sets. Another thing to consider is skill level. When there are so many people involved, there will be people of varying skill levels from beginner to professional. No matter you skill set or skill level, you can have an opportunity here. Teaching and Mentoring: We plan to offer an amazing line of learning material to include online tutorials, podcasts, and other online teaching material, but the most important one is each other! Visit our forum for useful discussions or start your own! In order for this community to work, we have to talk to each other Who is going to watch us? Lucky for us, we have a means of marketing ourselves. There are several online video websites such as YouTube, Google Video, and MySpaceTV to name a few. Some other websites we should be stay aware of are sites like Atom Films. As we grow and our product gets better and more mature, we will move to a more mature medium of film distribution, be it podcasts, film festival submissions, DVDs, or even the big screen. What does the future hold? I see MoltenAngel Productions becoming a known entity in the national media and film production realm. I believe many friendships and partnerships will be made from this community. I strongly believe in this dream to create a film production and I feel that this just might be the way to do it. Our plan is to move to Summary: After reading this, we hope you no longer think making a movie is very far out of your reach. We think movie making is something we can all enjoy being a part of, no matter what age or where in the world you are.
